editing analysis, Bleu

go into classworks and grab Bleu

save it to your desktop or film file

watch the film using VLC up to and including the scene in the hospital with the pills

analyze the use of editing, using all of the elements we have discussed:

  • transitions
  • shot to shot relationships
  • continuity editing

be sure to discuss what is used, how and to what effect. use screenshots to illustrate your explanations.

you don't need to discuss every transition, but you do need to discuss all the elements used

test screen shots

To Help You Focus

Remember to write a paragraph for each beginning with what dominates/drives the shot and then considering all elements of the shot, answering why each is used and concluding with what the combined elements tell us.

Then write a concluding discussion of a few paragraphs, wherin you consider how all of the shots indicate character traits and foreshadow narrative, with examples and explanation.

Put your word document into the class folder in classworks at the beginning of the morning Thursday, March 4th
